What Is Doctor Climax All About?
Doctor Climax is a Thai period drama series is penned by Kongdej Jaturanrasmee. Grammy Studios is the producer while Pairach Khumwan and Jaturanrasmee are the directors. It is set in the 1970s and follows a doctor named Nat who is a specialist in skin problems.
He starts writing columns for a newspaper where he addresses sex, all under the pen name of Doctor Climax. Ekachai Uekrongtham is the creator of the show as well as the executive producer.
The series premiered on Netflix on June 13th, 2024, and had eight episodes. The title of each episode was after a sexual health issue faced by people which was addressed in it.
How Did Doctor Climax Season 1 End?
The eighth and last episode of Doctor Climax was called Abortion. We see Thong Tien being cornered by Pao and Pornchai as they plan a sting operation to catch him at a nightclub.
Eventually, Nat has to clear the name of Tien since the newspapers are also complicit and working for the powerful. But we finally see the bad guys losing and that gives hope. The season ends on a nice note which is a rarity these days.
Is Doctor Climax Season 2 Happening?
Netflix has not commissioned Doctor Climax Season 2 yet but chances are that it might happen soon. The streamer has been expanding its presence in different countries and they would want to have a strong presence in Thailand where the show is from. If the show has received strong viewership, the chances of a second season increase further.
Since it has just ended, we should wait and be hopeful that it will take place. Overall, there is much buzz and fans have been constantly demanding it since the series touches upon taboo subjects.
Who Will Be In The Cast?
If Doctor Climax Season 2 takes place, chances are that the main set of actors will again show up.
Actors like Chantavit Dhanasevi (playing Nat), Chermawee Suwanpanuchoke (Tukta), Arachaporn Pokinpakorn (Linda), Bobby Nimit Lugsamepong (Pornchai), Tonhon Tantivejakul and Chaiwat Thongsaeng along with Yvan du Champ de la Bataille can reappear on the upcoming season.
If the storyline takes place in a different setting, we can expect several new actors as well as playing interesting characters. So it will be a nice mix of actors from the previous season with fresh faces that will make it a fun watch.
Since the show has not been commissioned, we can only speculate on the release date of Doctor Climax Season 2. It might probably be released next year or by the early months of 2026.
