Netflix Announces Sequel of One Tree Hill
On August 30th, 2024 Netflix announced that they are working on a sequel series to the much-loved One Tree Hill. The producer of this show, Warner Bros. Television, is also reportedly involved with the project. Sophia Bush played the role of Brooke Davis while Hilarie Burton is Peyton Sawyer.
They will be returning to reprise their characters. Along with Danneel Ackles, the two will also be the executive producer of the sequel. Becky Hartman Edwards is the writer of One Tree Hill.
Lenz, Burton, and Bush have also created a podcast named Drama Queens where Buckley also joined the team. In it, they rewatch the show and discuss the episodes. It began in 2021 and has since achieved moderate success. Bush, Edwards, Burton, Danneel Ackles, and Jensen Ackles will be executive-producing the sequel.
The producer of One Tree Hill is Emily Moss Wilson. There is no news about the release date. But since the development has started, we can expect the show to be released sometime in 2026. More updates will emerge as the makers will be having discussions with more and more actors for the sequel.
