Severance was the creation of Dan Erickson and it was directed by Aoife McArdle along with Ben Stiller. Stiller and Erickson have also executive-produced the show with Nicholas Weinstock, John Cameron, Mark Friedman, Andrew Colville, Chris Black, Jackie Cohn, and Andrew Colville. Severance premiered on February 18th, 2022 on Apple TV+ and it had nine episodes.
How Did Severance Season 1 End?
The final episode of Severance was named The We We Are and it was released on April 8th, 2022. The episode showcases the innie version of Mark waking up in the house belonging to Devon. He then mistakenly makes Cobel aware of their mission by using her name.
Mark is told about the death of Gemma by Devon whom he also tells that he is actually an innie. Later, Irving finds out details about his outie version and maps and other things which he uses to find out Burt.
Helena Eagan, who is actually the real daughter of James Eagan, is the outie of Helly. She manages to reach the stage and tells the crowd about the torture the innies have been going through. Meanwhile, Mark finds out that Gemma and Ms. Casey are the same person.
He goes on to tell Devon about this but is slammed by Milchick. The contingency is shut down and it leads to the reverting of the three people as the outies.
Is Severance Season 2 Happening?
In April 2022, when the first season was going on, Apple TV+ announced that Severance Season 2 was happening. Given the cliffhanger ending of the first season, the second season was bound to happen as it will continue the storyline and take it to its conclusion.
In October 2022 the series started shooting but it was halted due to the strikes in Hollywood. Apple TV+ released a glimpse of the season in their ‘Coming to Apple TV+’.
What To Expect From It?
The makers have released a short video that features Adam Scott walking down the aisle of the Lumon Industries office. We then get to see several quick cuts of the character in different attires as he runs towards something. We also see Tramell Tillman welcoming him with a sinister smile.
The video increases intrigue without revealing much about the plot of Severance Season 2. However, one thing is clear Adam is back at Lumon and their mission has failed.
