What Is The Front Room All About?
The Front Room is penned and helmed by the Eggers brothers which consists of Max and Sam Eggers. The horror flick has been taken from the eponymous short story which came out in 2016 and was written by Susan Hill. The story was first published in a collection called The Travelling Bag and Other Ghostly Stories. Its plot focuses on a very young couple and the lady named Belinda is pregnant.
At that point, her mother-in-law decides to move to their house. As the story progresses, we witness the horrific side of the mother-in-law. Meanwhile, Belinda has to protect her child who is unborn from the dark force. The film is backed by the popular A24 and Two & Two Pictures.

Brandy Norwood is playing the protagonist Belinda in The Front Room. Besides her, it also stars Kathryn Hunter as the mother-in-law, Neal Huff, Andrew Burnap, Morgen McKynzie, Toree Hill, Scottie DiGiacomo, Charlize Orr, Chasity Orr and Desi Ramos along with Wendy Heagy among others.

On June 20th, A24 released the official trailer of The Front Room. The two-minute and 27-second-long trailer was filled with some really exciting and creepy moments from the film. It starts with Belinda driving her car and listening to music. Suddenly, a phone call breaks the flow and we see someone telling her, ‘Dad’s dead.’ The couple is then told that his last request was to take Belinda’s mother-in-law with them to their house.
We are then introduced to the lady and her appearance gives creeps. The lady is welcomed in their house and is strange from the beginning. The trailer moves and tension grows. Belinda’s mother-in-law doesn’t approve of the name of her unborn child. She realizes that the lady is off and has supernatural connections.
She tells her at a point, ‘you are literally evil’ as we see some scary images of the old lady. The trailer also glimpses towards racism the protagonist faces, which makes it a horror film with a social message. Its tagline reads, ‘like mother, like hell’ and the video ends with Belinda telling her name’s real pronunciation to the lady.
