What Is Mission Impossible All About?

Mission Impossible is a giant film franchise consisting of seven films starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt who is an agent of IMF. The first was directed by Brian De Palma and was based on and worked as a continuation of the eponymous television series released in 1966. It was released on May 22nd, 1996, and was a success. Its success led to more films and the expansion of the franchise.

These include Mission: Impossible 2 (released in 2000), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015), Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023). All these films have been directed by different people; Christopher McQuarrie has directed the last three films in the franchise.

How Did The Last Film End?

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One showcases in the end that Denlinger is murdered by Gabriel. An attempt on the life of Paris is also made. Grace then becomes Alanna and gets access to Kittridge’s keys and the money transfer is canceled. Ethan fights with Gabriel and the latter manages to escape. He also blows the bridge.

With Grace’s help, Ethan is able to remove the locomotive from the train. Paris tells Ethan about the Sevastopol and its link with the keys. Ethan finally manages to get the key and leaves the area via paragliding. He meets with Benji and resumes his mission to end the Entity.

What To Expect From It?

The film will pick from where the last film left. We will see Ethan and Benji continuing their pursuit of the Entity to end it and look for Sevastopol which has been responsible for a lot of destruction. The film will star Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt once again.

The film will also have Janet McTeer, Charles Parnell, and Mark Gatiss among others. Christopher McQuarrie will return as the director and he will also write the film with Erik Jendresen.

Do We Have A Release Date?

Mission: Impossible 8 had a different release date which was pushed due to the production delays caused by the Hollywood strike. It will now be released on May 23rd, 2025 according to IMDB. Dead Reckoning Part Two was removed from the title of the film and currently, there is no official title given.
