Sprint Review: An Adrenaline Rush Lands on Netflix

Sprint Review

If you are ready to follow the journey of some of the world’s fastest humans, and no we aren’t going to recommend a sci-fi movie or series, it’s time for you to head over to Netflix and stream the latest docuseries. This 6-part sports docuseries sets itself apart from the rest in a rather smart manner and dips into the various aspects of being a sprinter.

If you have been sifting through streaming platforms for something to get your adrenaline high, skip that horror series on watchlist, and take a look at Sprint instead.

Netflix is doing a brilliant job in introducing some of the biggest sportsmen and sportswomen who have grown a lot in the last few years, and now have a platform this big to put forth their journey. Here’s our review of Sprint!

Who’s the Fastest of Them All?

Football, car racing, golf, cycling, and even cheerleading are some of the many sports that have been under the spotlight in the form of different docuseries across different streaming platforms.

For example, most recently, Netflix released America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which didn’t receive the best review from us, but shed plenty of light on cheerleading. Soon, Netflix is also releasing Receiver, a homage to 5 NFL players, their life, and their game. Now, it is time for the sprinters to shine, and that’s exactly what Sprint does.

The first episode of the series introduces the different sprinters who then go on to feature across the 6 episodes in the docuseries. These sprinters are Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, Zharnel Hughes, Gabby Thomas, Marcell Jacobs, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Elaine Thompson-Herah.

Their introduction itself will leave you with a smile and excitement for what’s to follow, whether or not this is a sport you have followed before, which is something very unique about the docuseries. Episode 1 focuses primarily on Lyles and Jacobs and also sets the tone for the rest of the season making it a key episode of Sprint.

From the very beginning, it is declared that while this sport is about the fastest person, it comes with plenty of baggage which is explored in this docuseries.

Learning more about Richardson and Jackson was one of the bigger highlights of the series, despite it being situated early on in the series.

There’s no doubt that while each episode of the series had a similar tone and theme, there was always something different, something to look forward to, and more importantly, never a dull moment. Sprint truly is an adrenaline rush and holds up a mirror into the lives of sprinters unlike never before.
