Trying is a very popular comedy show to come out of Britain in recent times. The series has been the creation of Andy Wolton who is also its writer while Elliot Hegarty and Jim O’Hanlon are the directors. It stars Esther Smith (played by Nikki Newman) and Jason Ross (Rafe Spall) who have been married for a while.

After their struggle to conceive a child, they decide to adopt one and the story focuses on that. Recently, Trying Season 4 Episode 3 aired and it had many developments in the story.

Scott’s Birthday Party

Trying Season 4 Episode 3 is called Murder at Slaughterbridge Manor and it dropped on May 29th, 2024 on Apple TV+. Despite the grim title, the episode is not at all like that but is actually quite cheerful.

Scott (played by Darren Boyd) is 50 years old now and throws a party to celebrate it at a Manor. We see him hatching a plot for a murder mystery while his wife is against it. Meanwhile, Jaso has to give a speech at the bash but he knows nothing about him.

The game starts and Scott decides to act dead in the room. But sadly, no one is really interested in this game. This makes Scott realize that he should not have come up with this stupid-sounding plan. He is very upset and sad about the whole thing.

After Karen asks him, Jason decides to deliver the speech. This leads to a very awkward situation since both parties realize they don’t know each other. There is also a sense of sadness in this whole ordeal at my birthday in Trying Season 4 Episode 3.

Efforts to Tackle Global Warming

Trying Season 4 Episode 3 further shows that Scott is not finished because of these setbacks. He reveals that the Atlantic Ocean will be rowed by him in the future so that he can raise some awareness about global warming in different countries.

His daughter is also into these and it will be helpful for him. Scott is also desperate and wants his daughter to at least realize his existence and don’t forget him.

While the wife Scott does not like him, these events lead the viewers to develop empathy for the character. Despite his childishness, he is a person with a kind heart.

The party eventually comes to an end and Nikki and Jason return home in the vehicle of Princess (played by Scarlett Rayner). They share a moment with each other in silence to reflect upon everything.

In the end, we see Nikki coming across a Sat Nav which is quite special. It has the address of her real and biological mother saved in the device which really excites Nikki. We can expect the upcoming episodes to focus on how the couple navigates their life as new parents while navigating everything.

The series premiered on May 1st, 2020 on Apple TV+ and had eight episodes. It was followed by the second season which ran from May 21st, 2021 and July 2nd, 2021. A third season was issued and it aired on July 22nd, 2022 and concluded on September 2nd. Trying Season 4 has been airing since May 22nd, 2024 and it will conclude on July 3rd, 2024.

All the seasons have had eight episodes. The executive producers of this series are Andy Wolton, Josh Cole and Jim O’Hanlon while Chris Sussman, Dean Weathers and Emma Lawson are the producers of Trying.

Conclusion

Trying continues the long tradition of new and engaging coming up from Britain. The show has relatable and funny characters and a plot that is not too thick. But we have been entertained by the story of Jason and Nikki as they deal with their problems.

Trying Season 4 Episode 3 continued the story and we witnessed some funny as well as embarrassing moments from the party of Scott. The episode continues to deliver the things it has been delivering to viewers.
