John Green’s 2017 novel, Turtles All The Way Down, is being adapted into a movie with the same title, directed by Hannah Marks, and written by by Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptaker. This upcoming movie is a romantic drama, that might resonate with people a lot more after the recent pandemic that changed the mindset of several people as more of them faced anxiety around germs and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

What is the Plot of Turtles All The Way Down?

Aza has far too many intrusive thoughts, along with anxiety and OCD, that have stopped her from leading the normal life that most teenagers live. However, things are about to change for her.

In the official trailer of Turtles All The Way Down, we see Aza being constantly reassured by her best friend to pursue a romantic interest who seems more than smitten by her. Now, it’s all upon Aza to either work through her anxiety and live the normal life she always wanted to, or just to drown in her mental illnesses.

The Cast of Turtles All The Way Down

Isabela Merced is set to star as Aza Holmes in Turtles All The Way Down, whom you might recognize from her role in Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Let It Snow on Netflix. She also starred in Madame Web in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and will appear in the second season of The Last of Us on HBO.

Cree Cicchino, best known for her roles in Netflix’s Mr. Iglesias and The Sleepover, will play Aza’s best friend Daisy Ramirez. Felix Mallard, Judy Reyes, Maliq Johnson, Poorna Jagannathan, and J. Smith-Cameron will also be joining the cast of Turtles All The Way Down.
