Women in Blue Episode 6 Review
Out of all the series on Apple TV+ at the moment, we have to admit that Women in Blue ranks somewhere at the bottom. With a strong and gripping backdrop, there are plenty of routes that can be explored in this series, but it has almost started to feel a little repetitive as the female police force, and mainly María, Valentina, Gabina, and Ángeles attempt to find The Undresser.
Women in Blue is a powerful series that effectively champions feminism and challenges the patriarchy, but as it moves into the second half, we can only hope the narrative becomes more compelling. What’s Next for the Women in Blue?
Women in Blue Episode 6 begins with a terrifying letter from The Undresser that reaches one of the journalists we have been introduced to, Lucas. In this letter, the ruthless serial killer identifies himself by describing where he left Alma Alvarez’s body, how he later killed her at the hospital, and also a birthmark on her thigh.
He sends a terrifying message to the women in the city, and although Lucas doesn’t want this letter published, his boss thinks otherwise.
Meanwhile, María struggles to keep up with her marriage and husband, who wishes for things to be back to normal, for the sake of the kids, but María continues to stand her ground. Her character arc has seen some serious development in the last few episodes, and from where we see it, there’s plenty more to come.
After she refuses to mend her marriage, her husband appears to have pulled a stunt like never before, which endangers her job as a policewoman, and sadly, the law will be on his side, as mentioned in the episode.
As for the letter of The Undresser published in the newspaper, the police department of Mexico City assures the press and the people that “justice is coming” and they will do whatever it takes to catch The Undresser, even though we are aware that’s far from the truth.
Despite everything going on in her personal life, María decides to keep her focus on The Undresser and decides to go to prison to meet a man convicted of murder, in hopes of learning more about the man they are trying to catch. This scene is one of the stronger and more gripping scenes of the entire series, which also elevates the episode as a whole.
Overall, Women in Blue Episode 6 is a brilliant addition to the series, even though the police don’t come too close to finding out who The Undresser is, but the efforts of the women come with some hints to help them move forward with the case. María was the highlight of this episode, as she time and again proves the complexity of her character.
Conclusion
