Later, Leon receives medical treatment after a blood injury, and Mogju secretly hides Aro, the physician. The group discusses keeping the king’s injury a secret. It emerges that Jiang saved Leon’s life by stopping his bleeding. Mogju suspects Jiang but denies her being a criminal. Outside, Mogju tries to meet the king but is stopped by Changsu. She fights back but is told the king forbids her entry. Meanwhile, Jiang and Leon’s complex relationship deepens as Leon chooses her for a mysterious role, possibly as a concubine, causing Jiang to worry about altering history.

Songje pressures Jiang to spy on Leon for safety reasons, but she hesitates, fearing his wrath. They agree on a secret alliance with conditions. Mogju plans to use cook Mansoo to torture Jiang, but Jiang and Gamgil resist, even attempting to set fire to escape. The royal assembly debates Jiang’s exile, with officials demanding her removal. Leon asserts his authority and commands Jiang to be brought to the assembly.

In a dramatic assembly scene, Jiang is accused of being a criminal, but Leon defends her, appointing her as the chief royal cook, shocking everyone. The queen daughter challenges Jiang to a cooking competition with severe consequences if she fails. Jiang fears for her life but resolves to prove herself with Leon’s encouragement.

The episode ends with preparations for the competition, political tension rising, and Jiang determined to survive and succeed in the royal kitchen, setting the stage for the next episode.
