Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington’s romance that was building in the first two episodes of Bridgerton Season 3 has now come to a halt after the introduction of a titular character, Lord Debling. Fans had been introduced to this character in the promo of the season, and his importance was well established because Colin cannot be uncontested when it comes to Penelope, and that’s exactly how Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3 unfolds.

While this episode of the season isn’t all sparks and lingering touches between Colin and Penelope, it introduces an important subplot that helps drive the narrative forward, and it does so with charm, wit and humor. There will be spoilers ahead, you have been warned!

Colin and Penelope Spend Some Time Apart

Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3 wasn’t our favorite episode so far, but that could also be because we are secretly rooting for Penelope and Colin to get together as soon as possible, however, it is almost important to remember that as of now, we are only in Part 1 of the season.

There’s plenty more to come when it comes to our beloved #Polin, but until then, Penelope has made some stunning progress when it comes to finding herself a husband, and in this case we are talking about Lord Debling.

Lord Debling is truly one of a kind, and we aren’t just talking about his handsome looks and pushed back hair, but also how he prides himself on not being a part of the crowd, and seeks out the same quality in his future wife, and of course, Penelope fits the bill!

While there were some interestingly woven moments in Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3, one couldn’t help but notice Colin’s lingering glances at Penelope for pretty much the entire episode. There was also some jealousy from Colin’s end as Penelope spent time with Lord Debling.

Towards the end of this episode, we see Colin appear to come to terms with his feelings for Penelope, especially after a conversation with his mother. However, as he approaches Penelope, she is preoccupied with Lord Debling, and those few seconds were enough to shatter the hearts of all #Polin fans.

Nevertheless, Bridgerton Season 3 Episode 3 also witnessed Benedict Bridgerton possibly finding someone who could match his sarcasm, and it will be interesting to see how this subplot moves forward. And of course, we haven’t forgotten about Violet Bridgerton and her brief encounter with a new and dashing character, Marcus Anderson, who also happens to be Lady Danbury’s brother.
