What Is Elsbeth All About?

Elsbeth was created by Michelle King and Robert King and it’s a mix of comedy with a police procedural format. It works as a spin-off of two shows where the character appeared, The Good Fight and The Good Wife. The series is about Elsbeth Tascioni (played by Carrie Preston) who was an attorney in Chicago and had a successful career. But she decides to move to New York and is tasked by its police department to check for a consent decree and she ends up functioning as a detective.

Unlike similar shows, Elsbeth follows the format in which the identity of the killer is shown in the beginning. Robert and Michelle are also the executive producers along with Jonathan Tolins and Liz Glotzer. It premiered on February 29th, 2024.

What Happened In The Previous Episode?

Elsbeth Episode 8 is called Artificial Genius and it was released on May 9th, 2024. Leah Nanako Winkler wrote the episode while Tyne Rafaeli was the director. It showcases Elsbeth and Kaya Blanke (played by Carra Patterson) meeting Quinn Powers (Elizabeth Lail) who has created an app called Cerberus. Right before she starts the company’s IPO, journalist Josh Johnson (Eric William Morris) tells her that he knows the secret and is planning to expose her.

She ends up murdering him to protect her company and her own image. Both Kaya and Elsbeth get into this case and realize the victim had the yearbook from the school of Quinn. Later, they realize that the dognapers thing is fake and the AI-generated image composition of the suspects is also not worth it.

As the episode progresses, more details emerge and we see Elsbeth trying to decode the meaning of them all. Overall, the episode turns out to be an entertaining one which takes the story forward.

What To Expect From Elsbeth Episode 9?

Elsbeth Episode 9 is called Sweet Justice and it’s directed by Kevin Rodney Sullivan while the script was written by Erica Shelton Kodish and Bryan Golubuff. A 21-second promo of the episode showcases that the plot will center around a bar. This bar is attended by several celebrities and its quite fancy. The bartender gets close to one of his regular customers. However, the next day, she ends up dead. So we can expect our titular protagonist to find out the killer in Elsbeth Episode 9.

The role of the bartender is played by Arian Moayed who is the guest star of this episode. He has previously worked on popular shows like Succession and Ms. Marvel among others. The episode has a very interesting premise and it would be really fun to see how Elsbeth and the team track down the killer amid so many issues.
