How Did Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 End?

The last episode of Star Trek: Discovery Season 5 was called Life, Itself and it was released on May 30th, 2024. The episode was written by Michelle Paradise and Kyle Jarrow while Olatunde Osunsanmi is the director. It showcases Moll getting convinced by Burnham for teaming up. This conversation happens in a different dimension via the portal. Meanwhile, the portal is being held on via a tractor beam coming from a shuttle by Culber and Book.

Later, Saru tells Tahal to stay underground but she manages to send one of the ships for the investigation. Finally, Burham manages to talk to a Progenitor via the technology but L’ak can’t be brought back with it. She decides to escape with Moll while the ship throws Tahal and Breen dreadnought’s ships towards the cusp of the galaxy.

The portal is thrown into a black hole by Burnham. Years later, she and Book marry and she gives birth to Leto, a son. He will be the captain of the ship. Burnham is an admiral now and she restores the Discovery ship to its original 32nd century version. She moves it to a new place where Zora waits for a mission.

What To Expect From Star Trek: Discovery Season 6?

Star Trek: Discovery Season 6 is not happening since the makers have not made an announcement. However, if it happens it can take cues from the last season. We see a time jump after which we witness that Book and Burnham have started a family together. However, there is a wide range of years that is unanswered.

The makers can explore what happened to Burnham and the crew of the ship in these years. Saru and T’Rina’s wedding takes place and then we see Burnham sending Zora on a mission which connects its storyline to something else in the Star Trek universe.

The main design from the 23rd century is brought back for the ship. Burnham plans to park for a thousand years in deep space until Craft shows up in an escape pod. This leads to Calypso. However, the makers have canned the sixth season so this connection will not happen but it was conceived.
