The Atypical Family Episode 8 is now officially streaming on Netflix, and if you haven’t watched it just yet, we highly recommend doing so before reading this review, because there will be some spoilers ahead. Towards the end of the previous episode, we see Bok Gwi-ju attempt to crack a deal with Do Da-hae’s family, who seem incredibly skeptical about Gwi-ju and the Bok family, especially now that they know about the superpowers.

Episode 7 had set up the latest episode in a seamless manner, which only increased the anticipation, and to some extent, The Atypical Family Episode 8 did live up to the expectations. Keep reading this review as we dive in a little deeper into this latest K-drama which only gets more complex as it inches towards the end of the series.

Bok Gwi-ju and Do Da-hae Spend More Time Together

The Atypical Family Episode 8 begins with Mrs. Bok having yet another dream about the ring, only this time it seems more like a nightmare. This scene establishes that the ring will continue to play an important part not only in the series, but this particular episode, and that’s exactly what happens.

The Atypical Family as a series should get plenty of credit for setting up episodes and scenes in a way that makes it intriguing yet easy to follow.

On the other side, Bok Gwi-ji is busy convincing Do Da-hae’s family that spending more time with Da-hae won’t just help him with his power but actually help all of them financially. While only some convincing goes into this, Da-hae’s mother doesn’t hesitate much in cracking a deal with Gwi-ju, which means that the two protagonists would be seen together more often in The Atypical Family Episode 8, and that eventually became one of the best parts of the whole series.

This latest episode was incredibly entertaining and that mainly happened because of Gwi-ju and Da-hae spending time together, and their feelings for one another were also evident. Gwi-ju wasted no time ensuring he was around Da-hae, even if that meant working behind the desk at the sauna with her and interrupting her date with other men. It was a hoot and a half!

The Atypical Family Episode 8 wasn’t too plot-heavy, but despite that, it helped give viewers a better understanding of where the series is headed. The end of the episode was a key moment for Gwi-ju because he learned it was he who saved Da-hae all those years ago and also handed her the family ring. It will be interesting to see how the next set of episodes help unfold this plot point, but so far, this K-drama has us intrigued!
