What Is The Jinx: Part 2 All About?

The Jinx: Part 2 is the second part of the popular true crime documentary series The Jinx. It was on Robert Durst who was the son of a rich real estate agent from New York and later got convicted for murders. It premiered on February 8, 2015, on HBO and had six episodes. The first season concluded on March 15th, 2015.

Andrew Jarecki is the director of this series who had earlier made All Things Good which was inspired by the life of Durst. After the film came out, Durst liked it and contacted Andrew for an interview. That led to The Jinx where Durst gave interviews for many years. This was the first time he had entertained any journalist and spoken about his crime. Andrew is the writer of the series along with Sam Neave, Marc Smerling, and Zac Stuart-Pontier.

Durst passed away in 2022 after he was convicted post the release of The Jinx. The second part will cover all the years since the first season came out. It will feature interviews with more people as well as calls Durst made from prison. The Jinx: Part 2 premiered on April 21, 2024.

It also features him questioning Dursts but the latter doesn’t break. A truth is unearthed in the episode is a jury member named Chris Lovell who had helped Durst in acquitting in the murder of Morris Black.

Since Durst was rich, he was able to affect Chris’s decision-making. More than a decade later, he helped the killer in moving to Cuba but he was caught by the cops. Dick DeGuerin is the defense attorney of Durst post his arrest. He also contacts David Chesnoff who is often hired by big celebrities in Hollywood during legal issues.

The Jinx: Part 2 Episode 2 is called Friendships Die Hard and it’s also directed by Jerecki. This episode might dig deeper into how Robert Durst contacted big lawyers like David Chesnoff to create a case for him to go scott-free from prison time. His wealth allowed him to hire a lawyer for his case. We might also see the interview of some more people as well as a glimpse of his prison life if the episode reaches that point.
