A Virtuous Business Episode 3

A Virtuous Business Episode 3 Review

A Virtuous Business continues to bring a breath of fresh air to the K-drama genre and the streaming landscape as a whole. This latest series offers audiences plenty of engaging content and plays a pivotal role in breaking down taboos surrounding sex and related topics, helping overcome the stigma.

One must constantly remind themselves that this series is set in the early 90s, but that only increases the quality of the overall narrative. The latest installment of the series, aka episode 3, is now available to stream on Netflix, and in this article, you can read our review of the same!

Jung-sook’s Son Goes Missing!

A Virtuous Business episode 3 opens with the aftermath of the provocative graffiti displayed outside Han Jung-sook’s house, boldly reading “sex.” The neighborhood gathers to gawk, including outraged women, leaving Jung-sook mortified as she stands with her head bowed.

This incident exemplifies the recurring theme of using sex and related topics to shame the female protagonists throughout the series.

The entire blame is shifted to Jung-sook, because of the business she is involved in, and as several women from the neighborhood yell at her, Jung-sook’s mother makes an appearance, who isn’t thrilled about this endeavor either.

It is heartbreaking to watch Jung-sook tell her mother the truth about her marriage, and in turn, her mother refuses to help her, which gives Jung-sook almost no time to focus on this business.

The news about the graffiti also reached Detective Kim Do-Hyun, who decides to help Jung-sook, unlike the rest of the town, and while he doesn’t have many leads to go on looking for the vandal, he manages to help Jung-sook paint over the graffiti, and we’re looking forward to seeing whether A Virtuous Business will explore the underlying chemistry between the two!

Female friendships, and their being there for one another when no one else will, serve as the ongoing narrative as episode 3 progresses, which elevates the scattered themes present in the series overall. There’s always something to look forward to, and one can truly sympathize with Jung-sook in this episode, but we’re glad she has her fellow women with her, as they navigate their new friendship.

Tragedy strikes later in the episode when Jung-Sook’s son, Min-ho goes missing, and of course, Detective Kim is quick to get on this case. While Jung-sook is panicked, looking all around town with Kim for her son, her mother only makes things worse, but that doesn’t deter Jung-sook for long.

Luckily, Min-ho is found, thanks to Kim, and we learned that Min-ho was attempting to help his father get his job back.

Conclusion

Much like the first two episodes, A Virtuous Business episode 3 brings about a roller coaster of emotions, with a focus on the turbulent relationship between Jung-sook at her mother. There’s plenty more yet to come, so make sure you keep an eye out for our reviews of the coming episodes!
