My Troublesome Star Episode 5 Review

Episode 5 of the drama “My Troublesome Star” revolves around the intense dynamics on a drama set, focusing on the protagonist Sara (also known as Chang-ja) and her struggles to revive her acting career amidst bullying and conspiracies.

The episode opens with Gochal arriving at the set where Sara is being bullied by the female lead. Gochal intervenes angrily, but Sara insists on continuing despite the mistreatment because this opportunity is crucial for her comeback. After the confrontation, Sara apologizes to the crew, but the female lead remains hostile and storms off. Sara accidentally falls, and Gochal helps her, signaling his protective nature.

Thesuk, another character, arrives and invites Sara, Gochal, and Namju to a restaurant to ease tensions. During their interaction, Thesuk probes Gochal about his background, learning that he is from Busan. A flashback reveals that 25 years ago, Sara had an accident after meeting a detective at a Busan police station—a detective whom Gochal secretly is, though Sara is unaware. This detective connection deepens the mystery surrounding her accident.

The episode also explores Sara’s strained relationships: her trust issues, her past memory loss related to the accident, and the challenges she faces in the industry. Sara is unexpectedly dismissed from her role despite positive feedback, highlighting the cutthroat nature of show business. Thesuk helps by giving Sara contact details of a writer, though Sara’s first meeting with the writer is fraught with tension and misunderstanding.

Meanwhile, Guchal investigates Sara’s case, suspecting that those close to her might be involved in the attempts on her life and career. He takes photos of everyone present on the shooting day, including Hyung. Guchal’s investigation leads to a dangerous encounter with gang members tied to a criminal named Jusang Pil.

The episode culminates in Sara confronting her past as she suffers a head injury on set, triggering flashbacks about her accident and the man behind it. She reveals to Thesuk that she remembers a unique watch worn by the man responsible for her accident—an important clue linking past and present threats. Sara resolves to confront Dhuan, a powerful figure connected to her past trauma, despite warnings.

The episode closes with Sara attempting to enter the office of the entertainment company’s CEO but being stopped by guards. Gochal intervenes, revealing police presence already there and facilitating their meeting. Inside, Sara and Guchal recognize faces tied to the mystery, setting up further intrigue for upcoming episodes.

This episode skillfully weaves together suspense, emotional depth, and industry drama, setting the stage for a gripping narrative where Sara’s past and present collide, and where every character’s true intentions remain shrouded in mystery.
