At present, global warming and climate change have posed some great threats to our planet and all those who live in it. Humans, animals, and every living thing on Earth face the scare of extinction, some sooner than later. Netflix’s latest docuseries, Our Living World, takes the viewers on a journey of the planet, one that will make someone stop and think twice about their way of living and what one can do to help preserve the planet.

Our Living World is narrated by Cate Blanchett, which might seem like a unique choice, to begin with, but as the docuseries progresses, one would realize that Blanchett’s soothing voice and Australian accent might just be the perfect fit for Our Living World. In this review, we will talk about what worked and what didn’t work for Our Living World, which in turn will help you decide whether you want to stream it or skip it!

Netflix’s Treat for the Nature Lovers

Our Living World has four parts and is now officially streaming on Netflix. This isn’t the first nature documentary or docuseries that has landed on Netflix, but there’s something about Our Living World that simply stands out from the rest.

For starters, the narrator of the docuseries is none other than Cate Blanchett, who you might recognize from her appearance in movies like Oceans 8, Thor: Ragnarok, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

While Blanchett can’t be compared to Sir David Attenborough and his contribution to narrating some of the most brilliant nature documentaries and docuseries, Blanchett offers her own uniqueness to Our Living World, which stands out in this docuseries.

The background score paired with Blanchett’s voice and accent proves to be the perfect blend that Our Living World needs. Blanchett has narrated every segment of the docuseries in a manner that turns it into an alluring experience for all.

Apart from Blanchett’s considerable contribution to Our Living World, there’s plenty more to look forward to, which includes the visuals. The visuals, without a doubt, are one of the most important parts of any nature docuseries or documentary, without which it wouldn’t really work. Our Living World has some stunning visuals from across the planet, however, the best part about these visuals is that they focus on the good, bad, and ugly.

Conclusion

Our Living World is fascinating enough to engage almost all of your senses in this immersive experience. While Netflix’s docuseries has a lot to offer, it doesn’t do much to stand out from the several other docuseries that have been released across several platforms. Nonetheless, it is a treat for the nature lovers, and deserves to be on your watchlist.
