The first season ended back in November 2022 and it’s been a while. But fans are still curious and eager to know if Reasonable Doubt Season 2 will be unfolding in front of them or not. So read on to find out as well as answer this question for all the fans.

What Is Reasonable Doubt All About?

Reasonable Doubt is the creation of Raamla Mohamed. It focuses on Jacqueline Stewart aka Jax (played by Emayatzy Corinealdi) who works as a defense lawyer in the corporate world. She is employed at a firm situated in Los Angeles.

She has two children from her husband Lewis (McKinley Freeman). The two have separated. The series premiered on September 27th, 2022 and ended on November 15th, 2022 on Hulu. Mohamed is also the executive producer with Shawn Holley, Kerry Washington, Larry Wilmore, and Pilar Savone.

How Did Reasonable Doubt Season 1 End?

Rich was told by Jax who was responsible for killing Kaleesha Moore. Brayden had shown up the same night and it was followed by Theo. We see that Brayden confronts Kaleesha and he stabs her with a broken piece of glass.

Jax meets Shanelle at the funeral of Paul where she is told about the stepfather of Lewis who has passed away. Damon also shows up and tells Jax that he is planning to quit his illegal work and talks about their breakup. He kills himself before the cops can catch him. The finale episode with the court stating that Brayden is not guilty of the murder. This shocks everyone.

Is Reasonable Doubt Season 2 Happening?

In early May 2024, Hulu announced that Reasonable Doubt Season 2 will be taking place. This is mainly due to the strong response the first season got and the ending was incomplete and warranted another season.

The official synopsis of the second season states that Jax will be told by a very close friend of hers that she has committed a murder. That murder is of her own husband. Reasonable Doubt Season 2 will also touch on the case revolving around Shanelle.

However, the line between being innocent and the perpetrator will be blurred this time around. We will also see the rekindling of the relationship between Jax with Lewis which will be fun to witness.

Reasonable Doubt Season 2 cast includes Emayatzy Corinealdi (playing Jacqueline Stewart), Lewis (McKinley Freeman), Tim Jo (Daniel), Aderinsola Olabode (Naima) Angela Grovey (Krystal) and Thaddeus J. Mixson (Spenser) as well as Christopher Cassarino playing Rich Reed. Some new actors will be also shown since the second season will surely have a set of new faces involved in the case of Jax’s friend involved in a murder case.

Do We Have A Release Date?

The first two episodes of Reasonable Doubt Season 2 will be premiered on August 22nd, 2024 on Hulu. While it’s not confirmed, we can expect the second season to also have nine episodes with each having a runtime of around 45 to 55 minutes.


Reasonable Doubt met with mixed response upon its initial run. The performances were well-received but the courtroom scenes proved to be lackluster. However, the makers are coming up with Reasonable Doubt Season 2 and it will be dropping soon. Audiences are expecting and hoping that it turns out to be better than the first season in every way.
