La Maison

La Maison Review

Apple TV+‘s latest obsession-worthy series, La Maison, has finally arrived, and it’s serving up a delicious blend of high fashion, dysfunctional family dynamics, and cutthroat power struggles that will remind you of Jesse Armstrong’s comedy-drama Succession.

La Maison is a gripping drama that follows the intricate lives of a wealthy and influential family, who helm the iconic French fashion house, as they navigate love, loyalty, and legacy. The first two episodes of the series are now streaming on Apple TV+, and here’s on review of the same!

An Intense Drama with Intriguing Characters!

Since La Maison is centered around fashion and family drama, there are plenty of characters in this series, but we recommend you take your time learning about them as the series progresses because you will have the time to do so.

As for the start of the series, it is important to know about one man only, and yes, we’re talking about Vincent Ledu, played by Lambert Wilson.

Other important characters in this series who are introduced in the first two episodes of La Maison are Diane Rovel, Robinson Ledu, Perle Foster, Victor Ledu, and Paloma Castel among others, who are all exceptionally different from one another, and this adds to the overall uniqueness to the series. No one character is written in a similar fashion, and this works in favor of La Maison.

This series is originally filmed in French, but is also available on Apple TV+ in other languages, however, we recommend watching it in the original language, and dealing with subtitles if you aren’t familiar with French. This is simply because the dialogue delivery feels so much more passionate and authentic, you wouldn’t want to lose out on that experience.

The rivalry between Rovel and Ledu is as intense as it was shown in the official trailer of the series, so if you had your expectations set high, the premiere of La Maison will meet them. Vincent has to be our favorite character of the series so far, and his urgency of proving his merit whilst matters only get worse for him really adds to the intensity of the narrative.

17 seconds can alter someone’s life, and La Maison is proof of it. As far as the first two episodes go, we aren’t too sure about what anyone’s intentions are, and every scene keeps us guessing about who really has Vincent’s best interest, while it definitely isn’t Diane, other characters are also a bit of a question mark.

But we can safely say that La Maison is as entertaining as we expected it to be, and all credit goes to the characters, and some to the enigmatic fashion that we can often see in the premiere episodes.

This is only the start of something big, and Apple TV+ has yet again done a brilliant job of expanding its platform with new and creative original series.

Conclusion

La Maison is for anyone and everyone, because there’s never a dull moment, and you will find yourself invested in the lives of all the characters, and the various subplots. We would love to know in the comments what you think about this series so far!
