Palm Royale Episode 10 Review: Apple TV+ Series Delivers Mediocre Season Finale

Palm Royale Episode 10

The finale episode of Palm Royale has officially landed on Apple TV+ and it’s safe to say that this episode, and the season as a whole was a chaotic mess. It would be a miracle if Palm Royale gets renewed for another season, however, we don’t see that happening right now, despite the wonderfully star-studded cast.

The series as a whole had several moments where it introduced subplots that would help better Palm Royale, however, it continued to drop the ball every single time. And once again, the ball was dropped, and this time, it was the beach ball.

It was established that the beach ball hosted by Maxine was going to be one of a kind because the entire series pretty much built up to that moment, Palm Royale Episode 10 starts with the beach ball and ends with the beach ball, and of course, a gunshot.

Lackluster Ending to Palm Royale

Undoubtedly, a lot happened in Palm Royale Episode 10, and that was a given considering it was the season finale. However, this episode ideally should have tied all the loose ends, but instead, it raised more questions with an abrupt ending.

Admittedly, every season needs an ending that leaves some room for a potential second season, but in trying to do that, Palm Royale Episode 10 simply tried to squish in every plot twist and cliffhanger in this one episode, while also not addressing moments from the previous episodes.

Palm Royale Episode 10 was too much and too little all at the same time, but Norma is finally talking in this episode. She starts with one person and slowly starts talking to more people at the beach ball, which should have happened a few episodes ago. Nevertheless, Norma doesn’t mean well, and also proposes to Robert in this season finale, in hopes of securing both their futures.

If you thought that was the most peculiar moment of Palm Royale Episode 10, think again. In this episode, Evelyn and Dinah also have a confrontation after Evelyn brings her new boyfriend Eddie to the beach ball, and somehow, both the women turn the entire blame on Maxine instead.

Yes, it is a shocker we haven’t mentioned Maxine yet, played by Kristen Wiig, who was the silver lining of this entire series. However, with the endless subplots weighing down on this season finale, Wiig’s performance was lost somewhere in the mix, and the same was the case with Robert, played by Ricky Martin.

The main part of the whole episode was of course the beach ball, which looked beautiful, and all the credit goes to the set designers of Palm Royale, but obviously, it wasn’t enough to save the finale. Maxine slowly and steadily learns the truth about her best friend, her husband, and of course, Norma, and breaks into a song where she reveals the scandals of Palm Beach.

However, Maxine’s performance is short-lived when Mary attempts to assassinate President Nixon, but instead shoots Robert. Palm Royale Episode 10 was shambolic, These key moments mentioned sound unrealistic, but that’s exactly how this season finale escalated. Oh, and Norma was a lot more diabolical than one would have imagined.

Palm Royale Episode 10 has given plenty of room for another season with several loose ends and of course, the main question is – Is Robert dead?

Conclusion

Palm Royale on Apple TV+ was a mediocre series and the only thing that saved it at several points was the cast, especially Kristen Wiig, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin, and Allison Janney. Keep a lookout on our website for any news about the renewal of Palm Royale for another season!
