What Is Uncle Samsik All About?
The series is written and directed by Shin Yeon-shick and the story takes place in the 1960s when Korea was under war. It focuses on Uncle Samsik whose real name is Park Doo-chil (played by Song Kang-ho) and Kim San (played by Byun Yo-han). The latter was an alumnus of the Korean Military Academy and had returned from the USA to serve his country.
The series chronicles their relationship amid the ongoing happenings of their country. On May 15th, 2024, Uncle Samsik premiered and its first five episodes were aired.
What Happened In The Previous Episode?
Uncle Samsik Episode 5 starts with a look into the childhood of Kang Seong-min (played by Lee Kyu-hyung) who witnesses the abuse from his father. This led him to create a rapport with Cha Tae-Min and it was called Sineui.
Later, Kang Il-Sik was killed via explosions planted by Seong-min and his men. There is discomfort between Kim San and Joo Yeo-jin (played by Jin Ki-joo) who is his lover and she calls out his two-sidedness since he joined the Democratic Party.
Uncle Samsik makes sure Kim San doesn’t give up since he has plans. Later, Ahn Min-Chul is killed after a major attack takes place on Joo In-Tae and his associates. Seong-min is accused of the killing which he denies. The episode also showcases another demise of Joo In-Tae due to the injuries sustained in the fight. Yeo-Jin is sad about the death of her father and Kim San tries to console him. The two end up parting ways because of it.
Uncle Samsik meets Ahn Yeo-Seop while accompanied by Kim San. In the end, we see Kim San speaking regarding Uncle Samsik in the defense building. We also see General Jang Doo-Sik meeting Sam-Sik in the jail.
What To Expect From Uncle Samsik Episodes 6 & 7?
Uncle Samsik Episodes 6 & 7 will start right after the fifth episode ends. The final scene showcased Sam-Sik talking to Jang Doo Sik about how his plan has not ended. So the upcoming episodes can focus on what he has in store. We will also see Uncle Samsik and Seong-min continuing with their plans to have control of the party and the nation eventually.
How they will achieve this will be an interesting thing to witness. The death of Ahn Min-Chul might also have more consequences which both Uncle Samsik Episodes 6 & 7 might showcase. The love life of Seong-min has come to an end after Yeo-Jin she is devastated by her father’s death and suspects his involvement in it.
However, in the future, he might try again to woo her back. Meanwhile, the titular character of Uncle Samsik remains a cunning person in the story who will continue to make moves and make sure his plans survive.
