Netflix has released the first episodes of one of its latest K-drama series, Frankly Speaking. This series revolves around the protagonist, Song Ki-baek, who is tragically electrocuted in the first episode, after which he becomes a little too honest, much to his dismay. Ki-baek becomes a truth-telling machine after that shock, and the only person who begins to understand this, and often ends up being around him is On Woo-ju.

The first two episodes of Frankly Speaking were packed with a lot of humor and a few moments between Woo-ju and Ki-baek, however, Frankly Speaking Episode 3 takes it up a notch. So, keep reading our review of the latest episode, which will delve into some of the best moments of Frankly Speaking Episode 3, because you wouldn’t want to miss out on it.

On Woo-ju Saves Song Ki-baek

Frankly Speaking Episode 3 starts with a flashback of a young Song Ki-baek who is spending time with his mother outdoors. Here, Ki-baek’s mother tells him, “Lying isn’t always bad.” The flashback continues from there and Ki-baek is a little older, in school, where he lies about his parents.

This appears to be a brief montage sequence of how Ki-baek has often lied to others about his life and lifestyle, just so people look at him a certain way. But now that Ki-baek can’t help but tell the truth, will the viewers and other characters be introduced to the real Ki-baek?

Following this flashback, Frankly Speaking Episode 3 goes back to where it left off in the previous episode, where Ki-baek and Woo-ju both jumped into the water after Woo-ju thought Ki-baek was trying to kill himself, however, that wasn’t the case. Now, both of them are sitting at the shore, gasping for air…and also trying to clear the air.

Although the two of them part ways, they quickly find their way back to each other a few minutes later, which is a rather sweet pattern in Frankly Speaking. Everyone loves a good moment between the two, and if you want to see these characters bond a little more, Frankly Speaking Episode 3 is the perfect place to be.

At this point, it has been established that Woo-ju has developed some feelings for Ki-baek, and while Ki-baek might be on the same page, he has bigger things to worry about – his job and his honesty. Frankly Speaking Episode 3 covers everything possible. There is also some more clarity on the “on switch” and “off switch” when it comes to Ki-baek’s brutal honesty.
